, London* May 1. The sculling race Between, / Edward Hanlan, of Toronto, champion of, ,the world, and Edward Trickett, of Sydriey, for £500 a-side, took, place to-day over the usual course on the Thames, aud resulted in a 'victory for' Hanlan by four lengths. Later.
Hanla'n's victory over T*rickett was the easiest that caii be imagined. • He stopped three times during the race, and literally "played with Trickett. - .(The weather' was very fine, the suu shinjng brightly, and the water was perfectly smooth. Large crowds, of people witnessed the contest from the banks of the river all along the course. - , .- ,
