AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS.
Mr Alfrkd Buckland's Wbkkly Rbi>ort.— At the Haymarket, on Friday. April 21, fodder was plcntitul, and brought from 2s Od to 4s Jd per cwt; small loads, Ids to 30s, and straw 20s to 30s per load. The Haymarket was well filled with horses, and a fair business was done in stock of all classes. Light unbroken stock, £6 lfisto £11 6s j medium draughts (unbroken), £1$ 5s to Li.}; active medium draughts (brokcu), L 23 to L3O 3s ; light harness horses and hacks, U> to 1,21. The pure bred pi^'s advertised brought from L 5 to LlO. The racchoiscs not bringing the amount required were passed in. At the Haymarket, on Tuesday, a number of hides pitched ■ were damaged. Those brought from 2d the lb and upwards ; best quality brought 4id the lb. Shcopsnins were numerous, and ranged from Is to 3s 9d each; tallow, 2zs to 23s 6d the cwt. Ihe Papakura cattle sale, on Wednesday last, was luliy supplied with stock. Prices were steady throughout at late values, anc, with few exceptions, all brought torward found ready buyers. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy and store cattle were in moderate numbers, and without alteration in value. Fat cattle were in average supply, but at lower values, from Is to 2S the 1001 bs.—prices ranged from igs to 22s the loolbs. The averages obtained were—2o steers, Y. R, Jackson, L8 6s 6d; 32, A. Bruce Suttoi, L 6 is 6d; 18, C. Dcttc, L 7 10s 6d; 15, Maclean and Co., L 7 7s 6d; 8, J. Horrel, L 7; 8, R. Reynolds, L 7; 8, McNiccol, L 6; 16, D. Tole, £5 17s. Sheep maintained last week's values; good wethers bringing from i4s 6d to 18s Od each. Pigs were unusually numerous, mostly wall bred, and many of Urge size. Prices realised, 2J the lb. iMfssrs. HuNiitK and Nolans Weekly Report.—Horses: There has been a, continuous large supply and a steady demand, and there has been little alteration in value. The Durham Yards, on Friday, were again crammed. 'Competition was goo?,' although nof quite so 1 spirited as "the previous week, and almost without exception those entered were disposed of, at prices showing little variation on the previous week. No really good draught stock offered. Hides, skins, wool and tallow: The supply was moderate; but there was a slight decline in value. Hides sold at 3^-skins, from Is 6d to 2s 9d ; tallow, 21s to 22s !)d. Cattle: There has been .a superabundance of fat stock, and other descriptions have been in moderate supply. The piices for the former have receded, but remained stationary for the latter. At Newmarket on Tuesday, there was an extraordinary large muster of fat beasts, and prices receded in consequence fully 3s per loolbs, For dairy and store stock prices were unaltered. Sheep : There was a full market on Tuesday. Compctitioe was spirited throughout the sale. _ The prices given the previous week were maintained. Lambs were very plentiful; good ones sold at from lls to 15? Cd ; storey from 8s Od to i)s. Pigs: A very large number were yarded, and prices were very much in favour of purcnasers.
