All classes of cereals have been largely dealt in, especially Wheat, and Oati, as noted below. At our auction sale we placed 9,000 at 3i 3d to 3s (id, and prices may now be quoted at 'is 2d to 3s Id for good feed, . and 3s 4a to 3s Od for prime milling. • TJunkdix.— lVAcat.-^-I'timc filling has been readily saleable throughout the month, at 4s Od to 4s 7d per, bushel, althongh millers have not manifested '• any anxiety to lay in stocks at these figures. The attendance wit very large, and tlie.whole passed the hammer at prices ranjjinsj from 4s 2d to Is sd, which is equal to 1-. 4d to 4i,7d delivered in Timaru. Kirst-dnss Wheat is now difficult to obtain. Prime milling may now be quoted at Is 7d f.o.b. .it which figure we have placed several large lines. A harden-.-jing influence has been established by the : high figures realised at the s.ile at Studholme Junction. Art XI and.—Wheat has hven coming forward sl.wlv, sales have been made up to 4s lOd per jbushel. O.tts are moving at .k 8d to 3s lOd per Vjushcl. lsvi kCMtmit.. — Wheat. — The crops have turned out very satisfactorily, and there is a sharp demand for export, which has sent prices up to 4s Od and 4s 9(1 f.o.b. the best samples ; :h Od to 4s 3d for medium, and 3s for fouls' feed. Prices have an upward tendency, and continued firmness is looked for. Oats arc .being spcculativcly dealt in to a very considerable extent, and an cscited demand exists. We quote present prices 2s lOd to 8s 3d f.o.b. Nbisqx.-— Uailiy.—One or two paiccls ha\e been placed at current quotations, but growers ■ generally are holding for the present, with the ' hope of an advance. Prices may now be quoted • at 4s to 4s Od. Afa/f.—A few transactions have taken pjacc at prices varying from 5s Gd to Gs. ( No)s.~The result of the harvest is that while in '' a few instances the crop is of indifferent quality, tbe bulk is generally good, and should readily secure purchasers. Very large quantities ha\e been produced this year, and the district is rapidly becoming the Kent of the colony. Consumers should therefore test the quality, in order, itsalisfactoryj to foster the industry. Present price for choice lots may be quoted at Is Gd to 2s per lb. UKAKS SKKOS. Chiustciiukch. —The market for Rye Grass is easier, occasioned by a lc-.s active demand. Prices may be quoted at Is (id to .'»-., while exceptionally well dressed parcels ha\o brought up to 5s 3d f.o.b. Cocksfoot is in strong request, and cannot now be quoted under 4]<l to f>d t.o.b. Duvhoiv. —We do not alter the quotations for Jiye.GrasSf at whiqh the demand is moderate. Cocksfoot is firm at po- lb advances on last idohth's prices. ■ /JCiMARU.— Rye- Grass is in fair supply. Quotations are—For farmers parcels 4> Od to Is <jd ; W\d fur best machine dressed f>s Oil f.o.b. Cocksfoot is q'uotcd at 4^d to fid per lb. Qamaru.— A good demand is expected for spring sowing. We have now quitted scseral parcels at quotations. Nti'iEK. —Rye Grass is easier, but very few 'good samples arc now offering. Prices vary from 4s for inferior to f>s 3d for good sml, prot iiicial grown ; and-os to 6s 0d for Povert\ I!ay. Coi_ksfoot is also scarce and selling at ■"> fd per lb.
