OPENING OF THE KING COUNTRY.
It will ho remembered by our readers that some time l( ago Rewi asked to have a v land court held over some laud iv which he, together with other .natives, -Was jn--terested. The Native Office has acceded to the request, and the first survey party is now about to leave Cambridge for the purpose of surveying the, country to be put through tlie court. |/The dand^'to be surveyed includes the' Tatua, "Whangamata, an<J Hitere Paerata blocks, the whole containing v : aboUt> 100,00^' , dcres. 1 The land extends along the western side of the Waikato river towards Lake Taupo, and is of excellent quality. The Land Court, we believe, will in all probability be held at' Kihikihi, it being the most convenient township for the natives interested. ■< - ,•> .
