Preparations for the great meeting here are now actively going on. Wahanui's crowd with several teams of bullocks and horses have arrived to draw firewood and food to the ground. House accomodation will be scarce, the Ngatihowai only having built many whares. Some of the contractor's men for building the new bridge are here, and commenced the preliminaiy work this morning. On the arrival of Mr Maclean the opening ceremony takes place.
