It is proposed to erect, at Ngaruawahia, a Fellmongery (site yet to be chosen by the Directors), suitable to treat all the skins procurable in the Waikato and other districts. The position of Ngaruawahia is most suitable for a business of this kind, having such communication by rail, river and roads, the water of the Waipa river also being considered of the best quality for the purposes It is proposed, when the Fellmongery' has been made a success, to' further extend the Company's operations by erecting a Soap and Candle Factory, * as the business of Fellmongery and Soap and Candle works are twin sisters. It is also intended to extend the business still further by adding a tannery, after the former has been properly establ ished, and to follow with a wool-scouring business.' ' This is considered to be the beginning of a number of industries in Ngaruawahia, which necessarily must follow, and which will greatly assist the fanning industry, and cause all the land in the neighbourhood to be put under cultivation and made remunerative. f ' ' ■ ' ; It is anticipated that 2,000 shares will be taken up by local settlers.
