Tuesday. John Joseph Murphy and George Howard for stealing front the person wore found guilty, and sentenced respectively to three years penal servitude and two years hard labor, The trial of Elizabeth Darrah for bigamy was postponed. William Maclean pleaded guilty to an indecent assault on a child named Elizabeth Whitten, and was sentenced to three years' penal servitude. Samuel Joy, charged with obtaining goods under false pretences was acquitted. Grove Vowless, charged with stealing a heifer, the property of, Walter Chitty, of Hamilton, was acquitted. The Grand .Jury found true bills against Mika'ere (manslaughter), James Bigstock (false pretences), Joseph Merrick (arson), Michael Ryan (indecent assault), and George Bennett (stealing from dwelling). The bill againat'John Stawell for forgery was ignored. •

Grove Vowless was charged 'with cattle stealing from Isaac Coates, of Kirikiriroa. The evidence was similar to that given before the magistrate. He was found guilty. Sentence deferred.
