DEFENCE DEPARTMENT. THE present contractor having given notice of the termination of his contract on Friday, the 21st April next, sealed tenders in duplicate will be received by the undersigned up to noon on Thursday, 6th April, for the supply of Rations to the Armed Constabulary or other Colonial Force, between Cambridge and Rotorua, and any Constabulary Station in Waikato District, for the twelve months ending 22nd April, 1883. Specifications can be seen at the A.C. Office, Cambridge. Each tender must be accompanied by a cheque for (£25) twenty-five pounds, made payable to the Receiver-General only, and not to bearer, and marked by a banker as good for 21 days, as aguarantee that the contract will be taken up. The successful tenderer will be required to find two approved sureties of £200 each for the due fulfillment of the contract.
