WANGANUI, Last Night.
Major Nixon's house, Seabrook, Wanganui, was totally destroyed by fire this morning. Major Nixon is an invalid, and fears for his safety were entertained in town. Fortunately, the weather being fine, he had gone out into the garden. A portion of the furniture was saved, but the library, containing many valuable books and curios, was lost. The house was insured in the Liverpool and London for £1,000.
