In the District Court to-day, Larch, French vinerong, sued Dargaville for £100 damages, breach of contract in connection with planting a vineyard at Wairoa. The case was adjourned. The Telegraph Department have re* solved to open a telegraph office at Te Aroha. Cochrane and Sons held a land sale to-day. A farm at Wairoa South, the property of the late B. Smith, brought £1200; land at Waiau brought £18. ■ Greenwood offered a number oNamall farms and allotments to-day at W^mart. The sale was largely attended, but the bidding did not reach reserve prices. .
