COMMERCIAL. The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS.

Mr Alfred .Huckland's Weekly Report.— There was a good supply of fodder at the Haymarket on Friday, March 3. Oaten and meadow hay brought from 2s 3d to ss ; small loads, 10s to 30s j and straw, 14* to 18s per load. Horses were yarded in good numbers, and consisted principally of an inferior sort, and although competition was dull, the greater portion of those entered was disposed of at fair prices, active medium draughts bringing from £15 to L 25 ; draughts, L 25 to L3O ; harness horses, L8 5s to Li§ ; h.icks, Ls to Ll3 ss. At the Haymarkct, on Tuesday, ■hides were in brisk inquiry ; prices ranged from 3J[d to iid the Ib. ; sheepskins, from tod to 2s 6<l each ; tallow, 22s 6d the cwt. ; wool rose in value ; fleece wool, in greaso, brought from 7jd to 7§d the lb. At Waiuku, on Saturday last, there was an average muster of cattle, with a good attendance of buyers. Four working oxen brought L8 each ; a medium draught mare, L 25 ; calves, from Li to Li gs ; yearlings, L 2 ; two-year-olds, L 3 ; three years and upwards, from L 4 los to L 6 10s respectively. At Pukekohe, on Monday, a larijo muster of stock, mostly from two to three years old, met with a steady demand, at prices fully equal to those obtained at Waiuku. On Wednesday the allotment of 33 feet, in Stanleystreet, sold on the premises, realised L 213. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows were in brisk repuest at improved values. Store catile were also in fair enquiry. All fat cattle yarded were light weight, but generally of good quality. 117 head were sold to the trade. Prices were rather higher than last week, and, for steers, ranged from 2is to 23s the toolbs. Sheep were in full numbers and at previous values. Wethers, 2]d ; ewes, barely 2d the lb. Fat lambs in full numbers and of very good quality. They were at better values than for several weeks. Pigs of all classes were again in brisk demand at good values. Messrs. Hunter ano Nolans Weekly Report.—Horses : But a limited number have been offered for sale and the demand has not been brisk. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, less than an average number were entered for disposal by auction, and most of those offered beingfamiliar with the yards, consequently did not attract much attention. There remained an untatisfied demand for good upstanding geldings, with trials in harness. We quote hacks from Lo 5s 6d to Ll4 10s; light harness horses, from Lv to Lid ss ; light draught, L 23 10s. Wool, Hides and Skins : The demand \v.«s bti rather a limited quantity w.is brought forward. Wool, 111 grease, sold at from ;d to 7^d; hides, fiom 3^d to4d pur lb. ; t tllow, ajs per cwt ; skins, gd to 2s 4d. Cattle There has been a large suppl} , and steady demand, but no upward tendency in price. There was a large number of fat beasts yarded at Newmaiket. Dairy cows ueic in adequate supply, and improved demand. At Pukekohe, on Wednesday, there wis a very large muster, but competition was good throughout, and all were disposed of. There was no noteworthy alteration in prices for any description of stoc.k. Sheep: There has been a very large number brought forward, and although the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday were quite full of fat wethers, prices had an upward tendency selling at from 13s 3d to 17s 6d. Lambs in short supply; demand, brisk. Prices realised from 9s _to 14. Pigs. In short supply, and keen competition. Porkers' sold at 3d per lb., live weight.
