London, February 27th. The cargo of frozen meat per steamship Orient, consisting of mutton and lamb has been sold at the average of 5J per pound. The meat is of fair quality. The committee to enquire into the working of the Irish Laud Act in the House of Lords consists of ten peers. Earl Cairns is chairman of the committee.
St. Petersburg, February 21st. The trial of 20 provincial Nihilists has just concluded, 10 of accused being sentenced to death, and 10 to penal servitude for life.
