IMPROVED PROSPECTS AT TE AROHA.

Thk prospects of Te Aroha as a goldfield arc rapidly improving. On Friday evening a rich leader was cut on the boundary of the "Arizona" and "New Find claims, about a cwt. of specimens fiom which will, it is said by competent miners, run at least half -an-ounce to the pound. The leader where cut is very small, bat it appears to widen towards the " Arizona." Good gold lias also been got in various claims. In the "Eureka" claim a reef about 4 feet throtigh and having a north-west to south-easterly diiection, intersecting the Great Buck reef, has been cut. Here too the prospect is very fine. About 40 tons of general stufF, which will a-verage about 2oz. to the ton, as well as some two tons of picked stone, which is expected to give a much larger return lie above ground. A large numberof visitors have been on the mountain, and are all, more or less, impressed with the prospect. It is hoped that the pio-posed battery will soon be erected, so thata practical test of the value of the new discoveries may be made.
