LAND TAKEN FOR ROAD PURPOSES IN THE PARISH OF PIRONGIA. (l. s.) ARTHUR GORDON, Governor. A PROCLAMATION. WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken under " The Public Works Act 1876," and " The Public Works Act 1876, Amendment Act 1878," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road through part of Lot two hundred and sixteen, Parish of Pirongia, in the Provincial District of Auckland : And whereas the Pirongia District Board has laid before the Governor the memorial and map mentioned in and signed and certified as required by the said Acts : Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Oordon, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, in exerc'se and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by sections twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four, t and twenty -five of " The Public Works ' Act 1876," and by section twenty-eight of " The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of any other power and authority enabling me' in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the laud described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely vested in feesimple in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, and interests of what kind soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE. All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 3 roods, more or less, and being part of Lot 216, Parish of Pirongia, Alexandra Survey District, Provincial District of Auckland. Commencing at a point distant from the most north-western angle of Lot 216 aforesaid, 348 links. Bounded towards the Nothwest by a road 115 links ; towards the East by aline, S7O links; towards the South-west by a road, 188 links ; and towards the West by a line to the point of commencement, 643 links ; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and I Saint George, Her Majesty's High Commissioner for the Western Pacific, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice- Admiral of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the Said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two. MANGAPIKO HIGHWAY DISTRICT. Notice to Rateyayers. A MEETING of Ratepayers of the above district will be held at the old &chool-house, Pateraugi, on Saturday, April Ist, 1882, at 12 o'clock noon, to consider the proposed closing and alteration of road between lots 312 and 313, Parish of Mangapiko, as duly notified.
