Messrs Mort & Co. report under date, Sydney, Feb. 14th :— Wool . We brought foiw.trd a moderate si/ed catalogue for this week's sale, 1 onipnsing about 1600 bales. There was a good demand for .ill desoriptions at I.Uo rates, and over 1100 bales w ere quitted at following range of values, viz -—Greasy 7W to nd; medium llcccc i6dto i7ld: faulty 13]'! to »S d ,i scoured pieces and skinwool 1(d to 17 Id. Sheepskins were in f.ur request, and .1 good catalogue was rle.ned at from 511 to 7tl for medium to f.urlj lleec-d, and 2d to 3Jd for pelts and shoitgrowth. Tallow. At the sales to-day prices foi ship Ding parcels did not exhibit improvement, but trade lots met with keen competition. Wo quote— liecf.it from £30 to £31 iob; mutton £32 to £,} ; and mixed £2$ to £20 per ton. Hides : Fail prices aie ruling lor all descriptions; to-d.iy heavies realised from 4jd to 4-{d ; medium i»d to \\Cl ; and light and dry 4&d to s£d per lb. Grain : At the sales this week a further adv.incc in price took place, and the best lines of Wheat may now be quoted at from 5s 5d to 5s OJd per bushel. Oats are worth from 2s iod to 3s per bushel. Flour : The maiket is firm, and more disposition to operate is shewn on the part of buyers. Arrivals from the houthern Colonies continue large and check any tendency to higher prices for our own production.
