Melbourne, February 14. In consequence of the satisfactory state of the Victorian finances the Treasurer has repurchased undue Treasury bonds to the amount of £300,000. The male nurse attending upon the small-pox passengers in the quarantine station has developed symptoms of variola.
Brisbane, February 14. Disastrous floods have been caused by the very heavy raiu which has recently fallen here. Near Margommdah a large extent of country is inundated, and 2000 sheep have been drowned. The mail is entirely suspended owing to the floods.
