A NARROW ESCAPE FROM DRO WNING A T RAGLAN.

Our own correspondent writes : — Bathing which is freely resorted to at the present time by the residents here was almost the cause of the death of William Honuku, a lad in the employ of Mrs Graham. While in the water with a number of other lads enjoying themselves, he was suddenly seized with cramp, and would most certainly have been drowned if some persons had not gone immediately to his assistance. This is not the only case of the same sort which has happened recently, but I believe that Honuku has the most narrowly escaped being drowned amongst the list I could name.
