English and American Sympathy with Jews in Russia.
New Yoek, February 1. A largely attended public meeting was held here to-day, at which resolutions of sympathy with the position of the Jews in Russia were passed. It was also resolved to communicate with the Government, and request it to intercede with the Czir, with a view to steps being taken to stay the persecution of Jews in the Empire.
London, February 1. A large and influential meeting was held to-day at the Mansion House, for the purpose of taking steps to raise funds to assist the Russian Jews. A powerful committee was appointed to carry out the objects of the meetiug, and £15,000 was subscribed in the room.
