LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS. [BY TELEGRAPH.]
Our correspondent wires last night : — The English cricketers arrived by the Rotorua to-day, and went on to Hamilton by this afternoon's train. Dr Moore, of Auckland, fell down the hold of the" Rotorua 1 on the "journey up from the South. He sustained a severe shock, though no bones were broken. At the fielenaville racea about 700 people were on the ground. Harkaway had a walk-over for the Hurdles. Maiden Plate: Twilight, Ist ; Juno, 2nd. Randwick missed the train at 3.30 p.m. Helensville Handicap : N or M, Ist ; Lara, 2nd ; Flora, 3rd. Only three started. It was a good race. Time, 3min. 30secs.
