TAWHIAO IN AUCKLAND. [PER TELEGRAPH.]
Opr correspond eufc wires last night : — Tawhiao and" party amused themselves to»-day visiting various manufacturing establishments. To-morrow he goes to the waterworks at Mangere. Mr Firth's entertainment ia postponed on account of the drenching rain. The latter portion of Tawhiao's speech at the dinner yesterday is not fully reported in the Herald. He said that in the course he had taken he had acted in contrariety to Te Ngakau, who wished a different course to be pursued, but that his will had overridden Te Ngakau's. He also said with respect to the Alexandra bridge that, fearing the reproach of Europeans that it had been constructed for him with Government money, he had stipulated that it should be paid for by himself.
