KIRIKIRIROA SCHOOL.

4 At the re-opening of the school on Monday, parents of the pupils took the opportunity of distributing the prizes and holding a social gathering amongst themselves. The following prizes were distributed by Mr T. S. Thomas, the chairman :—: — Sunioh Division. — Writing 1 ': Miss Bella Kelly ; Miss Bella Teas. Arithmetic; Miss Bella Teas. Improvement : Miss S. A. Thomas. Diligence : Miss S. A. Thomas. Junior Division. — Writing: James Thomas. Arithmetic : Lilla Kelly. Diligence : Caroline Mullions ; Annie Teas. Improvement : J. Hunter Teas. Regular attendance: Jas. Thomas; Fred Wm. Thomas; Alfred Teas; Henry Locke; Emma Thomas. All the prizes were in the shape of of well-selected books, provided by friends in the neighbourhood. In addition to these, the teacher, Miss Stanton, gave two prizes ; one, a handsome silver pencil case, for the best figures, was awarded to Mias Bella Tees ; the other, an illustrated work, awarded to Harry Mullions, for recitation. Before the proceedings terminated the chairman said he desired to express to the teacher the great satisfaction the committee felt in the advancement the children were making under her charge, and from what he could gather, all the parents were equally well pleased with her efforts.
