WAIKATO CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the above 1 association took place at Ohaupo last Monday. Present — Messrs Wood, Bodily, Grierson, Cotton, and Speed. Telegrams were received from the president, Mr Northcroft, and several members, apologising for their absence. The following rules were then drawn up, and read by the chairman :—: — (I) The association shall be called " The Waikato Cricket Association." — (2) The objects of the association are the management and promotion of the general interests of the game of cricket throughout the Waikato. — (3) The annual subscription of clubs shall be £2 2s, and members 5s, — (4) The office-bearers shall consist of a president, two vice-presi-dents, and hon. secretary, and an lion, treasurer, to be elected at the annual general meeting, who, together with the appointed delegates of the clubs of the association, shall be the committee of management for the ensuing season.— (o) The secretary of each club shall send, at the commencement of every season, to the secretary of the association, the name or names of their delegates for the ensuing year. — (6) That all subscribing clubs and subscribing members not having paid their subscription before the first of November, shall be deemed to have withdrawn from the association. — (7) That in case of matches where admission is charged members of the association may obtain admission into the ground free of charge. — (8) Membership tickets shall not be transferable. — (9) The committee of management shall, at the first meeting appoint a chairman of committee for the current year, and such committee shall conduct all the business of the association during the year. — (10) The secretary shall abide by and cany out the instiuctions of the committee. — (II) The treasurer shall pay all moneys received by him on account of the association into the Bank of the association to an account to be operated on by cheques signed by the secretary and treasurer. — (12) No expenditure shall be incurred without the sanction of the committee, and all payments above £2 shall be made by cheque, — (13) An annual general meeting of the association shall be held in the month of September in every year, when the report of the committee for the past season, and the treasurer's account, duly audited by two members appointed by the committee, shall be submitted for approval. — (14) Special general meetings shall be called by the secretary whenever directed by the committee, or on a written requisition from ten members of the association, which meetings shall be advertised not less than seven days pre« vious to their being held.— (ls) At all annual or special general meetingsten shall form a quorum, and at committee meetings five -shall from a quorum. — (16) At any annual or special general meeting, only those shall be allowed to speak and vote who have been members for the current year.— (l 7.) The committee may appoint sub-corn* mittees for any special purpose. — (18.) The committee shall have power to frame by-laws to /carry out the rules of the association,; provided such by-laws be consistent with these rules. — Proposed by Mr Grierson, and seconded by Mr Bodilly, '• That the rules as selected arid^ read by the ' chairman be adopted."
