NEWCASTLE DISTRICT BOARD.

The monthly meeting ' was held at Ngaruawahia on Wednesday,- 4th inst. Present — Messrs E. Fitzpatrick, W. Bailey, and W. Washer. Mr Fitzpatrick presided, in the absence of Mr Oorboy, who was -prevented attending by sickness. — On the minutes of last meeting being read, exception was taken to a motion authorising the expenditure of £10 on a culvert near Mr Crawfords at Whatawhata. The matter was deferred till a full meeting could be held. For the valuation of district, two tenders were received, fviz.,' S. Pascoe, £15, and T. Y. Fitzpatrick, £10 10s. The latter was accepted..' The* following tenders were received for the erection of a bridge netfr Mr T> \V. Fitzpatrick's,- West Waipa :~John Ross, £7 10s (accepted) ; C. Schrafft; £9 ;" W.
