SUPREME COURT, AUCKLAND. [BY TELEGRAPH.]

Auckland, Last Night. The Supreme Courb was occupied all day with the heaving of the case against Pluminer for sending a threatening letter to Dr. Philson. A very strong case was made out, but owing to the witnesses for the defence not being summoned, the Judge ordered the jury to be locked up for the night. Michael O'Connor was sentenced to two years' imprisonment for an attempted i*ape on a Maori woman At Aratapu, the Judge remarking that in a thinly populated out-district such offences must be severely punished.
