This morning the weather was* fine, and crowds went to the course, when a drenching rain commenced, and continued all the afternoon.
Midsummer Stakes. Walters'brfilly by Yattendon— Fanny Fisher ' 1 Walmsley's Ouida, by Yattendon — Young Gulnare 2 No others ran.
Auckland Plate. Randwick (9st 51bs) 1 Maori (9st sibs) 2 All the others were scratched, and Randwick won easily.
Steeplechase. King Don (list) 1 Clarence (12st) 2 Hawthorne fell at the first hurdle, and the jockey was hurt. Lone Hand stopped at the stone wall, but was pulled off after repeated trials.
Stewards' Handicap. Maid of Honor 1 TimWhiffler 3 Maori 3
Consolation Handicap. Maori 1 Paramena 2
