New Yobk, January 3. A serious disaster occurred at Shansville, a small town in the State of Ohio. The floor of a room, in which a large number of people were congregated, gave way, and all were precipitated into the space below. Twelve persons were killed instantaneously, and fully a hundred received injuries more or less serious.
Tunis, January 2. M. Roustan, the French ••'resident, was to-day presented with an address on his return to this city from Paris. In rhe course of a speech on the occasion, he signified that the French Government intended to maintain the results secured to France by the military occupation of the country.
London, January 2. Seven lady leaguers were arrested today in Ireland for seditious conduct. London, January 3. The cargo of frozen mutton, brought per the steamerJEuropa, from Melbourne, realised an average of from 5d to 6d per pound. There was a fair demand for meat, but the weather was somewhat unfavorable for its sale.
