WAIKATO CAVALRY DISTRICT PRIZE FIRING.
0 Troop. The firing for the district prizes by the Waikafco Cavalry Ydluateera took place on the several grounds on Saturday last. The official report for the C Troop is the only one to hand. From private sources it is reported that Lieut. Wilkinson, A Troop (Te Awanuttu), lias made a score of 64, and that a member of the B Troop (Cambridge), a score of .08 points. If this be correct, the second prize will probably fall to the lot of Lieut Johnson, C Troop, as his score of 22 at 400 yards, the longest range, is not likely to be beaten, and but for his unfortunate miss with his last shot, his score would have been high up in the records of good scorei sat this range. Corporal Pearson alao made a very creditable score of 20 at 400 yards, and Sub-Lieut. Hunt the same at 300 yards, with a score of 22 points. The following is a copy of the official return :—: — 200 300 400 yds. yds. jds. Tl. Lieut. Tnhnson ■ . 21 15 22 — 58 Lieut. Hunt . . 20 22 12 —54 Sergeant Wood . . 17 11 5 — 33 Corporal Pearson ... 18 16 20 —54 Trooper Aitken ... 15 11 13 —39
