Our Russell correspondent wires : — Jas. Simpson, teacher of the Native School at Ahipara, has been committed for trial for criminal libel committed upon Mr Reed, postmaster, Ahipara.

Our Grahamstown correspondent wires : — Thomas McG-ivern pleaded guilty at the Police Court to a charge of attempting suicide on Sunday. Letters were produced in Court written to his stepfather, John Solan, Mangapai, stating that he intended to make away with himself, as his heart had been broken by a woman. He was committed for trial at the Supreme Court.
