PRESENTATION TO MRS CORNELIUS GRIFFIN AT CAMBRIDGE.
At the conclusion of the marriage ceremony of the Rev. C. Griffin, Wesleyan minister of the Hamilton circuit, to Miss Mary Brown, of Cambridge, in the Wesleyan Church, Cambridge, on Wednesday last, the following address, accompanied byabeautiful solid silver cruet stand and a very handsome silver card case, was presented by the Rev. Henry Bull; the officiating clergyman, to the bride :— Cambridge, Waikato, December 14th, iBBr. Devr Mrs. Griffin :— On the occasion of your marriage with the Rev. Cornelius Griffin and your departure from Cambridge, we desire to ask 3'our acceptance of the accompanying presents as tokens of the esteem in which you are held by the Wesleyan Methodist Church of this place. Your energetic efforts in promoting the general interests of the congregation, and especially your \aluable services in the Sundayschool and church choir have been heartily appreciated by all. We desire to express our hearty wishes for your future happiness, and for the success of your endeavours in conjunction with tohse of Mr Griffin, to promote the enlargement of Christ's kingdom in the circuit to which he may be appointed by the ensuing Conference. —(Signed)— Henry Bull, Minister Gi'orgkSmbrdon, Sunday-school Superintendent John Houghtox (junr.), Secretary C. D. Mackintosh, Choir-master. The Rev. Mr Griffin, on behalf of his bride and himself, briefly acknowledged the address. He could assure them that he felt deeply gratified at the terms of appreciation which had been, expressed towards the lady he had then the pleasure of calling his wife. He was pleased to know that the assistance which Mrs Griffin had given in church matters iii the past was worthy of such generous acknowledgment on the part of her fellow-workers, and was sure that what had been done in the past was done out of pure love and affection for the cause in which she had laboured, and the good Master she had always tried to aerve. He had, therefore, much pleasure in tendering in her name, and in his own their heartfelt thanks and gratitude. The marriage ceremony was witnessed by over 200 people, and immediately after the service the nuptial party and their friends celebrated the event by a garden party at the home of the bride.
