"Young Lord Derby" took First Prize as a yeailing at the Auckland Show, 1878, aud Fiist Piize as a two-yeai-old in 1879. He was bred by A. aDd J. Anderson, of Kaniwhaniwha ; got by " Lord Derby," who, when a colt before leaving Victoria, took a number of First Piizes. He was bred by Mr A. Watson, Hiyh Bauk Hill, Kyneton ; got by " Champion of Scotland," the winner of First Prizes at the Highland Society's Shows, held at Edinburgh in 1869. He was also the winner several times of the Champion Gold Medal at the priucipal Annual Shows in Victoiia. As a Siro he was umivalled, as live ot his stock obtained at two National Show s prizes of the unpiccedonted sum of £195 Gs Bd, four £30 Cup«, and four Medals. " Loid Dei by 's " dam, "Piincess Maud the 6th," gamed seven First Prizes. Her sire, "Prince Charlie," was many yeais the Champion Hon>e of Victoiia" g. dam, "Puneess Maud the 2nd," gained many prizes at Port Phillip and National Society's Shows: her Mre, "Sir Cohn Campbell," aamed Fiist Prize at the Highlaud Society's Show, 1857 ; g-g. dam, "Princess Maud the Ist," gained First Prize at the Highland Society s Show, 1856, and has gained First Pnzes m Victoria too n umerous to mention. " Young Lord Deibv's" dam, "Fanny," got by "Northern Hero," out of " Queen," an impoited mare from Sydney. "Young Loid Dei by " is a lich dark bay, stands 17-1 hands, aud has proved a bure foal getter, and a grand temper. Terms — Single mare, £3 ; two or more, as pei agioemeut Giazing, 2s per week. THE EX MOOR PONY, "NUTBIEG," by Allspice, out of Lapwing, will run in a paddock at the Narrows, and serve a limited number of mares this season. Nutmeg was bred by Mr J . S. Caverhill in Canterbury, and stands thirteen hands two inches high, three ~ years old, and a perfect model of strength and symmetry.
