QUEEN'S WRIT RUNNING IN KING COUNTRY.
The following telegram, received from our Alexandra correspondent }'esterday afternoon, affords the most satisfactory evidence of the complete settlement of the native difficulty, so far at least as Tawhiao and the king country is concerned :— The native who stole Father Luck's horse last week from Mr McQuirk's farm, Harapepe, and sold the animal at Te Awamutu, has just passed through this place in the custody of Constables Gillies and Bond, the latter having apprehended the prisoner in the king country over the Punni river. Our correspondent adds : Tawhiao's good faith after this can be no longer doubted, tiie natives having given the accused up to be tiied by law for the offence with which he stands charged Te Wheoro was present and fully concurred in the anest.
