[ BY CABLE.] LONDON WOOL SALES.
Mr Alfred Buckf-ANd's Weekly Report. — At the Ha) market, on Frid.iy, Nov. 18, fodder was in short supply . Meadow hay brought from 2s 6d to 3s 6d ; pressed ditto, 4s per cwt ; small loads, 15s to 23s ; .md straw, 5s to 19s per load. The y.irds were again filled with horses, and although the bidding was il ill nearly the whole yard were disposed of. Medium draught brought from £15 to £28; light harness horses and hacks, £5 to £12 ; good harks ,£l3 to £ai ; several good harness horses sold frmn, £20 to £27 10s ; and a heavy draught mare with foal at foot, £iy. At the Haymarket, on Friday, hides were in less than usual number. Prices ranged from 3^d to to 3^d the lb ; calfskins, fiom a?d to 461 ; sheepskins \sere also in short supply, and varied from 2s 2d to 4s nd each. Small parcels of wool (locks and pieces) were plentiful, and brought rates fully equal those given at the previous wool sale. At Remuera, on Thursday, daity cows weiein moderate number, and slightly better worth ; they brought from L 4 10s to L8 10s each. Fat cattle were in full numbers, and maintained last week's values ; Small and middling-sized steers reached 25s ; heavy oxen, from 21$ the loolbs. Sheep were yarded in larger numbers, than last week, but fully maintained their values. Lambs were also in full supply, and slightly lower in value. Prices cf lambs ranged from 6s to 13s ; shorn wethers, 12s 6d to 18s ; ewes, 12s 6d to 15s each. Messrs. Huntkr & Nolans Weekly Report : — Horses : An unusually large number have been brought forward and disposed of, and values have been fully maintained. At the Durham Yards, on Friday, a very large number were submitted by auction, and almost without exception reserves were reached, and for those of a good stamp an advance on expectations was obtained, but there was no noteworthy cqange on last week's quotations. Cattle : There has been an di.-qu.itc supply and steady demand at fully last week's price-). Ihe Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday. Dairy cowsarc decidedly low in value. Stores were plentiful and there was no upward tendency in price. Fat beasts were steadily competed for, and rates were much the same as last week. Sheep : The supply has been short foi requirements, and there was a decidedly upward tendency in price, 2s per 81bs. having been freely given for fat sheep, and stores advanced [ully 2s each. Lambs were plentiful and sold well at ftom 6s 6d to 10s id each. Pigs ; a large number were yarded and prices were manifestly in favour of the buyer. At Mr. H. Mandcr's sale, on Wednesday, there was a numerous attendance. Bidding was brisk, and everything sold at an advance on late quotations.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following report .— "Londov, November 21. — The sales opened to-day .it an average advance of 5 per cent, on last sales closing r.ites, and comprise about 83,000 bales. 15,000 bales liabe been sent to the manufacturing districts direct. The opening catalogue contained 4000 bales, but was not a representative one.
