rpo STAND THIS SEASON. The' Superior Thorongh-bred Entire. "HERCULE S." Bred by Mr Murphy, of Spring Creek, and raced by Mr Redwood. Got by Ravensworth, dam Plover, by Sir Hercules, Ravensworth by Touchstone, Fair Jean by Verulam, Fair Queen by Pantaloon. Hercules is a bay horse, 8 years old, and stands 15J hands high, combines the beat of blood with good. bone and immense power, and has proved himself a good hoise on the turf. At the Canterbury meeting in 1876, won the Grand Stand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mm. 50 sec, carrying Bst. 2lbs., beating 6 others. In the same year won the Hawke's Bay Stake", 2 miles, in 3min. 54^sec, beating Fishhook and the Maori Weed, carrying Bst. 2lbs. Hercules will travel on and after Ist October, calling at the undermentioned places :—: — Mondays — Leave Goldburn, passing through Tamahere, Cambridge, and Pukerimu, to Ohaupo. Tuesdays— Te Awamutu, and Kihikibi. Wednesdays — Rotorangi, and Cambridge. Thursdays — at home, where he remains for the rest of the week. TermH— £3 10s each mare, Two or more as per arrangement. Friday and Saturday — At home at Cross Roads. The principal performances on the turf by this game horse Ariel, are— st. lb 1876— Won the Auckland Derby 8 10 D.J.C. Handicap 7 2 1877— Won the Auckland Cup ... 8 2 Canterbury Cup 9 7 1878— Won Forbury Handicap ... 9 3 North Otago T.C. Handicap 10 1 Auckland Cup 8 13 1879— Auckland Cup 8 10 By these performances Ariel has proved himself to be one of the best horses ever bred in the colonies, having beaten both Fishook and Mata, two of the fastest horses the colonies ever produced.

W. Higginson's at night ; Saturday, Alexandra, Ta Awarautu, and Cross Roads. Paddocking, Is 6d per week during season. Terms— Ariel, (Single Mare, £5 5a Od, two or more, as per agreement. Will Travel the following places in the Waikato :—: — Monday — Pukerimu, travelling same evening as far as Mr Grice's Farm via Rotorangi. Tuesday — Rangiaohia, calling at Mr A. Ramsay's, Kihikihi (Mr Corboy's) that evening. t Wednesday— Te Awamutu, calling at Mr Rutherford's farm. Thursday. — Ohaupo (forenoon only), Hamilton that evening. Friday. — Hamilton, stopping at Railway Hotel ; good grazing for mares at Mr Jolly's, at 2s per week. At Tamahere that afternoon, good grazing at 2s per week at Mr Jared Allwill's. Saturday. — Tamahere, and Cambridge at Carter's Stables. He was bred by Mr Patterson, Wanganui. His eire, Wellington, is acknowledged to be one of the finest horses ( imported to New Zealand. Hi» dam was an imported mare from Hobart Town, and, when exhibited, received every firstclass prize as a Brood Mare. " Young Wellington " stands 17 hands in height; his colour is, a beautiful dark dappled brown ; he has a wonderful docile temper; has good action, and for symmetry he has not his equal in, the country.
