MAJOR JACKSON AT RAGLAN.

At the conclusion of Mr McMinn's meeting Major Jackson addressed the electors present. His speech was mainly a repetition of that delivered a few nights previous in Te AAvamutu. In reply to questions put ho stated that he would stick to the principles which he had mentioned in his speech whether it would turn out the Government or not. He thought it proper that Government should place restiictions on Ciown lands to prevent persons going over them in pursuit of game, but thought any man who had property should not be debarred from doing what he liked with the game on it. Ho believed it was right that e7ery district should have a voice in saying whether or not a licente should be granted in that district, but should not have anything to say about why a license should not be granted in another district. He thought property should have an extra vote. He would say that a person who owned property in any district should have a vote for that property whether he resided within that district or not. Mr Powell proposed a vote of thanks to the candidate which was seconded by Mr Samuel Wilson and carried.
