Got by Ravensworth, dam Plover, by Sir Heroules, Ravensworth by Touchstone, Fair Jean, by Verulam, Fair Queen by Pantaloon. Hercules is a bay horse, 8 years old, and stands 15j hands high, combines the best of blood with good,bone and immense power, and has proved himself a good horse on tho turf. At the Canterbury meeting in 1876, won the Grand Stand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mt'n. 50 sec, carrying Bst. 2lbs., beating 6 others. In the same year won the Hawke's Bay Stake?, 2 miles, in 3min. 54^sec, beating Fishhook and the Maori Weed, carrying Bst. 21bs. Hercules will travel on and after Ist October, calling at tho undermentioned places :—: — ! Mondays— Leave Goldburn, passing through Tamahere, Cambridge, and Pukerituu, to Ohaupo. Tuesdays—Te Awamutu, and Kihikihi. "Wednesdays — Rotorangi, and Cambridge. Thursdays — at home, where he remains for the rest of the week. Terms— £3 10s each mare, Two or more as per arrangement. W. Higginson'a at night ; Saturday, Alexandra, Ta Awamuti, and Cro.*s Rokls. Paddocking, Is 6tl per week during season. Terms— Ariel, (Single Mare, £5 5s Od, two or more, as per agreemeut. rpO STAND THIS SEASON. The well-known Oydesdale Stallion, "YOUNG WELLINGTON." Will Ttavel the following places in the Waikato :— Monday — Pukerimu, travelling same evening as far as Mr Grice's Farm via Rotorau^i. Tuesday — Rangiaohia, calling 1 at Mr A. Ramsay's, Kihikihi (Mr Corboy's) that evening. Wednesday — Te Awamutu, calling at i Mr Rutherford's farm. Thursday.— Ohaupo (forenoon only), Hamilton that evening. Friday. — Hamilton, stopping at Railway Hotel ; good grazing for mares at Mr Jolly's, at 2s per week. At Tamahere that afternoon, good grazing at 2s per week at Mr Jared Allwill's. Saturday. — Tamahere, and Cambridge at Carter's Stables. He was bred by Mr Patterson, Wanganui. His sire, Wellington, is acknowledged to be one of the finest horses imported to New Zealand. His dam was an imported mare from Hobart Town, and, when exhibited, received every firstclass prize as a Brood Mare. " Young Wellington. " stands 17 hands in height ; his colour is a beautiful dark dappled brown ; he has j» wonderful docile temper; has good action, and for symmetry he has not his equal in the country. " Young Wellington " has proved himself a sure foal-getter, aud thoroughly staunch in harness. '
