npO STAND THIS SEASON. The Superior Thorough-bred Entire. "HERCULE S." Bred by Mr Murphy, of Spring- Crock, and raced by Mr Redwood. Got by Ravensworth, dam Plover, by Sir Hercules, Ravensworth by Touchstone, Fair Jean by Verulam, Fair Queen by Pantaloon. Hercules is a bay horse, 8 years old, and stands 15J hands high, combines the best of blood with good bone and immense power, and has proved himself a good horse on the turf. At the Canterbury meeting in 1876, won the Grandstand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mm. 50 sec, carrying Bst. 21b8., beating 6 others. In the same year won the Hawke's Bay Stakes, 2 miles, in 3min. 54|sec, beating Fishhook and the Maori Weed, carrying Bst. 2lbs. Hercules will travel on and after Ist October, calling at the undermentioned places :—: — Mondays — Leave Goldburn, passing through Tamahere, Cambridge, and Pukerimu, to Ohaupo. Tuesdays— Te Awamutu, and Kihikihi. Wednesdays — Rotorangi, and Cambridge. Thursdays — at home, where he remains for the rest of the week. Terms— £3 10s each mare, Two or more as per arrangement. Good paddobk well- watered will be provided at Goldburn at Is per week. All care will be taken, but no responsibility will be incuned. For further particulars apply to, CHARLES LAKE.

Friday and Saturday— At home at Cross Roads. The principal performances on the turf by this game horse Ariel, are — st. 1b 1876— Won the Auckland Derby 8 10 D J.C. Handicap 7 2 1877— Won the Auckland Cup ... X 2 Cantei bury Cup 9 7 1878 — Won Forbury Handicap ... 9 3 North Otago T.C. Handicap 10 1 Auckland Cup 8 13 1879— Auckland Cup 8 10 _ By these performances Ariel has proved himself to be ODe of tbe best horses ever bred in tbe colonies, having beaten both Fishook and Mata, two of the fastest horses the colonies ever produced.

Will Travel the following places in the Waikato :—: — Monday — Pukerimu, travelling same evening as far as Mr Grice's Farm via E/^toran^i. Tuesday— Rangiaobia, calling at Mr A. Riiinsay's, Kihikihi (Mr Corboy's) that evening. Wednesday — Te Awamutu, calling at Mr Rutherford's farm. Thursday. — OlMupo (forenoon only), Hamilton that evening. Friday.— Hamilton, stopping at Railway Hotel ; good grazing for mares at Mr Jolly's, at 2s per week. At Tamahere that afternoon, good grazing at 2s per week at Mr Jared All will's. Saturday. — Tamabere, and Cambridge afc Carter's Stables. He waB bred by Mr Patterson, Wanganiii. His sire, Wellington, is acknowledged to be one of the fine-t horses imported to New Zealand. His d^im was an imported mare from tiobart Town, and, when exhibited, received every firatclaes prize as a Brood Mire. 11 Young Wellington *' Htandn 17 hands in height ; his colour is a beautiful dark dappled brown ; he has a wonderful docile temper; has good action, and for symmetry he has not hia equal in the country. " Young Wellington " has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and thoroughly staunch in harness. " Young Wellington's" stock, for size, symmetry, and action, cannot be surpassed.
