CORRESPONDENCE.
TO THE EDITOK. Sib,— Major Jackson's supporters have industriously circulated the report that Mr Johns has been brought out to increapo Mr Whitaker's chances of election. Permit tne to state that such is not the fact ; Mr Johns has been brought out by the liotm fide desire of the Liberals of Waipa, and will get their entire support throughout the constituency. Now, as this report is calculated to injnre the Liberal cause in Waipa, and, besides, is an insult to the electors, will you kindly insert this letter giving? the statement an emphatic contradiction. The Mail hm refused insertion of a letter to the same purport. lam &o. William Jones. Hamilton, 16th Fov. 1881.
Mr E. H. Gubbins, Ohaupo, advertises that certain hor»es, described, have strayed oa to bis property
