Our own correspondent wires last niirht : — Further burglaries have taken place. A man jumped over the counter of the Army and Navy Hotel, and stole the till containing about five pounds. No one was in the bar at the time, but he was observed making off with the till under his arm. Two unsuuce&s£ul attempts were made to break into Fountain's shop at Ponsonby. The child lost in the scrub near Onehunga was found to-day. It was asleep in a gully, and was alive and well, although it had been out for 48 hours without food, and exposed two nights. Intelligence has been received that the Auckland biigantme Orwell was wrecked on the Island ot Peru. The crew were stiipped naked by the natives, and the vessel plundered.
