CAMBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.
The usual monblily meeting of the Board was held at the Town Board looms, Cambridge, on Thursday evening last. There were present : Messrs Wells (chairman), Johu&ou, Hewitt, and Nixon. The engi neer (Mr Gwynncth), was also present.— The minutes of the pievious meeting were read and confirmed. On the motion of Mr Johnson, it -\\ as agreed to call for tenders for the office of suriace-man for four months. — On the motion of Mr Johnson, Mr Thompson was appointed to prepare the valuation roll for the ensuing year, at the rate of £10 10s. — The Chairman remarked that printed circulars were being issued to all parties who had gorse gi owing on then propel ty adjoining the road, requestine them to have the same immediately removed according to Act of Parliament, cited in the circular. Thefollowingaccount&were passed for payment. A. Graham, £2 l'2s ; E. Gumby, £3 Us Gil ; R. Wright for repairing Board offices, £33 9a. — The Boml then went into committee on the engineer's leport upon the condition of the stieets proposed to be formed and repaired, and after some discussion it was agreed that the following should be pro ceeded with (-.0 soon as the owners of propeities remove the gor/e therefrom : — William- street from Victoria-street to Grosvener-street, Kirkvvood-btreet from Bieweiy-street to Lake-street, Queenstreet from Victoria-street to Chiipelstreet, Bryce-'-treet fioin Clare-stieet to Queen-btreet West. Pioposcd by Mi Nixon, seconded by Mr Watts, tha Brewery-sheet from Alpha-street to Queen-street East be formed a* suggested by the engineer, and th.it Alpha-street from Brewery-stipet to Victoria-street be formed 1* cliain wide.
