AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.

The market was filled with a useful lot of hoises, which wore in fair demand. At the usual sale of hides, skins, wool, and t.illov, on Tuesday last, both hides and skins uere in brisk enquiry. Fat cattle were in tull numbers, and of pood quality; last week's values fully sustained. Prices "for Auckland fittc'l cattle ranged from 25s to 28s ; ship-borne, from 23s to 25s the- ioolbs. Fat sheep were in les sth.m usual supply, and better worth than last j wuok about is each. Shorn sheep, 2|d; in their ' wool, i',d the lb. Fat lambs numerous, but in good demand, and last weeks values fully sus- I tamed. Prices for good quality ranged from 12s I I to 16, each. Dairy pigs of small and medium si/c in good demand, but large coarse pigs at nominal prices. Messrs. Husti'r & Nolans Weekly Report. — Horses ■ Activity has again characterised the market ; a good many have been brought forward I and found purchasers ; at the Durham Yards, above an a\oragc number wore entered for disI posal by auction. Ridding was spirited throughout the sale, and almost without exception those offei ed were disposed of, and in many instances prices were much in excess of the expectations of vendors. There remains an unsatisfied demand for good upstanding geldings and quiet buggy horses. Wo quote—Hacks, £6 2s 6d to £20; light harness, £111 1 5s to £16 10s ; medium, £22 to £28 ; draught, £30. Hides, skins, and wool : A large lot ot hides have been brought forward, but the majority were small land light weighs, and consequently did not realize such nigh prices as prime ox hides, 3 §d beintj the highest figure obtained ; calfskins, 3d per lb. ; skins, from is 7d to <5s gd ; wire, 6|d to 7^d ; tallow,, 23s per r.wt. Cattle— The yards on Tuesday at Ncvvarket were well filled with store and fat cattle. IJairy cows are unaltered in values, and stores at previous Kites ; but for 3-year-old steers in fresh condition, displ. tying care and breeding, there was an evident upward tendency. Beef in full numbcis at from zss to 28s par ioolbs. Sheep — The supply has been up to the average, and prices have been unchanged. About the usual number were entered for auction on Tuesday. Kidding was brisk throughout the sale, and all descriptions sold at about last week's quotations. Lambs ■were in full supply, and sold at from 9s 6d to 15s. Pigs— The yards were completely filled, and consequently prices ruled in favour of purchaser.
