THE LATEST. Irish Affairs. London, October 20.
It now transpires that the statement recently current that the head-quarters of the Land League had been lemoved from Dublin to Liverpool is quite piemature. No change has yet been made in the centre of operations of the League Dr Cioke, Archbishop of Cashel, County Tipperary, frelanrt, has written letters which condemn in strong terms the League manifesto urging tenants to refuse to pay rentB. The Irish Land Commission, appointed under the provisions of the Land Act, has commenced its sittings. Over 400 cases are set down for hearing by the commission. The Rev. Fathers Sheehny and Kgin, who have taken a prominent part in connection with the Land League, became alarmed at the firm attitude recently displayed by the Government, and have fled from the country. A Postmaster, who was lately a witness for the Crown at a trial in Longford, Ireland, has been shot.
