WAIKATO CRICKET ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of delegates from the various cricket clubs mi the district was held 1 at Ohaupo last evening, for the purpose of considering the advisableness of forming an association for the promotion 6f cricket and footbajl. There were present : Messrs Bodilly (Te Awamutu), Grierson (Alexandra), Lang (Waipa), Wood (Kirikiriroa), Sandea (Hamilton); Mr J. Wood was called upon to>, take the chain The following resolutions were carried unanimously, after considerable discussion :—: — (1) "That an association be formed, to be called ' The Waikato Cricket Association,' for the purpose of promoting the game of ciicket in Waikato district;" (2) "That an association be formed, to be called ' The Waikato Football Association, ' for the purpose of promoting football in the, Waikato district;" (3) "That immediate steps be taken to carry out resolution No. 1, but that details re No. 2 be left until the commencement of the football season ;" (4) That the committee meet at Ohaupo on Thursday, October 20th, at 10.,30 a.m., for the purpose of framing r,ules, and jthat the Secretary write for copies of the Auckland' Cricket Association rules to' be produced at such meeting." — It was resolved that the follbwing gentlemen be asked to take the offices respectively set against their names : — Mr H. W. Northcroft, K.M., President ; Messrs R. Kirkwood, John Grice, and D. B. Hindle, vice-Presidents ; Mr W. Tonks, Treasurer ; Mr Chas. Rhodes, Secretary ; Messrs Lang, Wood, Sandes, Qriersou, Bodilly, Cotton, J. B. Smith, Bromfield, and J. T. Edwards, Committee, five to form a quorum. — It was resolved that the subscription to the Association should be £2 2s per annum for clubs, and 5s per annum for individual members. This concluded the business, and after a vote of thanks to the chair, the meeting separated.
