GELTLiMEN, — Tt is my intention to offer myself at the next
General Election as a Candidate
to represent your District in the General Assembly.
WM. JACKSON. Kihikihi, July 1, 1881.
mo THE ELECTORS OF WAIPA. Gentlemen, —In fairness to my numerona friends and supporters in the Waipa Electorate I think it right to Inform you that I shall be a candidate for your suffrages at the coming 1 general election. lam aware that it is unusual to announce such an intention at a date so early as the present, but I am driven into the position by the rumors that are being so industriously circulated throughout the district at the present time. As to the question of how far it is advisable thus to weaken the hands of a represenfcatiye during the sitting of the House, I shall have more to say presently. — I am, etc., F. A. WHITAKER. Wellington, July 11.
There is a prevalent idea amongst farmers of the old school that manure should be kept in heaps, until by heating and decomposition it becomes well rotted, and in better condition for use. A careful analysis shows that manure so treated losea ten per 'cent, of its nitropren, which would hare been aared had the manure been carried to the field or orchard and spread.
