Tkmobam.i wliioh weie received to-day from Pretoria announce that the TransViial Yoltaraad has referred the AngloBoer Convention to a seleot Committee to decide upon its ratification or rejection, nnd that the Volksraad has in the raeantimo adjourned till Monday, October 3. Furthei teiegrama leport that General tjir Evelyn Wood has in view of the delay in the riitific.ition or the Convention, been invested by tho Imperial Government with full powers to act in the event of any emergency ; and that the General has ordeiod active preparations on the part of the British troopo in the Transvaal in order to be prepared for any difficulty that may arise.
Anglo-French Treaties. Paris, September 30. 'The negotiations which have been proceeding in this city since the 19th instant between the reprenentatives of English and French Governments on the subject of the commercial relations of the two countries have been temporarily suspended, and the British Commissioners are now returning to London, in order to confer with the Government as to the future course of action.
London, October 1 The Tunes, in a leading article to-day in referring to the return of the British Commissioners from Paris states that difficulties have arisen in the negotiations which have been proceeding between Fra i cc and England, and adds that the proposal of the former to lavy specific impoit duties on British cottons and woollens, is virtually insuperable, aud will preclude any understanding beipg arrived at.
More Irish Disturbances. London, September 29. Intelligence is to hand from Ireland, that renewed riots directed against tho piocess servers?, have oecunetl at several places in that country. The moreserious distuibanceB h-ive ocuuired at R.o.screa, Mohill, and Blara. News also has been received of a dastardly outrage on a landlord's lesidence at New Pallas. A barrel of gunpowder was exploded near the house, and caused its partial destruction. The perpetrators of the outrage have nQt yet been discovered.
Tunisian Affairs. Pahis, September 29. Telegrams received to-day from Tunis report that two seveie engagements have been foupht between the Arab insurgents and the Tunisian troops. In both actions, the latter were defeated.
