WAIKATO CAVALRY, "A" TROOP.
Firing for Prizes. The Awamutu or " A " troop of the Waxkafco Cavalry Volunteers concluded firing for the troop prizes on the Ist inst. The distances were 200, 300, 400, and 500 yards, five shots at every range, in any position. The following nre the scores of the principal competitors for the firing on the first Saturday of August, September, and October : —
It may be remarked that if tho scores are not particularly high, tho weapon used was the regulation carbine that for the long ranges is not always to be depended upon.
