RAGLAN. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Otf Tuesday, September 20fch, Messrs W. J. Hunter & Co. held their cattle sale at the Okete yards It may bo called the first of the season, and was a very good sale. There were nearly 300 head of cattle, most of which were sold. The prices on the whole were good. We have had a visit from two royal pi'inces ; not the sons of H.R H. the Prince of Wales, but of King Tawhiao. They were numerously attended. During their stay the natives held a meeting in the King's Raglan residence to consider a proj)osal from his majesty that the Ragkn natives should migrate to his territory. Of course there was the usual amount of talk, ending in our natives deciding not to forsake us. Wanted, a few people with a long balance at the Bank, to settle in Raglan and start some enterprise or enterprises to wake us all up and improve matters all round.— [Sept. 26, 188 L]
