LONDON WOOL SALES. London, September 22. — At the wool sale yestordaj, 0300 bales were offered, and .in acti\c demand was shown for .ill descriptions offered. Ihe tone of to-day's sale was, however, weaker. 7100 b. lies were catalogued. The tot.il quantity withdrawn from s.ile since the commencement of the series is 21,000 bales.. Ihe auction!, close on the Bth October. September 2}. — At the wool sale to-day CBOO bales were offered, making a total of 255,000 catalogued since the opening of the series. A firm and active demand was again experienced, and the prices for cross-breds ruled fully id per lb. higher than at the close of last series.

LONDON MARKETS. London, September 22.— Consols arc 99). New Zealand securities arc without quotable change. The market for Adelaide and New Zealand bieadstuffs is steady .it the 1 following quotations : Adelaide wheat, ex store, is 57s ; New Zealand wheat, c\ store, is g=;s ; Adelaide flour ex store, is 41s. Australian tallow: — J3est beef is 42s 6d. Best Scotch piff iron No. i, free on board in the Clyde, is quoted at 52s Galvanised iron 26gaugc is la 7 10s. Rest Sydney copra is Ll4. September 23. Consols are 99}. New Zealand securities arc unchanged at the following quotations • — Ihe 5 per cent. 10-40 loin is 102-/ ; the 5 per cent. 1889 loan is 102^ ; the 4} pci cent. 1870-190} loan is 90J Adelaide and New Zealand uhe.its, ex store, remain at 57s and S^s respectively. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, has advanced Gd, and is quoted to-day at 41s 6d. Iho total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Br.t tin is 1,870,000 quarters The market is firm. Australian tallow has advanced 2s per cwt. Best beef is .ps , best mutton is 14s 6d. 'ihe market is decidedly firmer.
