Weights to be declared after Spring Handicap Race. Acceptance to be paid 15 minutes before time of starting. 6. Consolation Handicap, 15sovs., for beaten horses during the meeting. Distance, 1 mile. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 10s.
Horses to take their age from Ist August. Nominations for Handicaps and entrance for Maiden Plate to be sent to the Secretary Waikato Turf Club, Hamilton, on or before Friday, November 11th; weights to be declared on the 15th. Acceptances received up to Friday, 25th, at 7 p.m. Entrance money enclosed, with the name, age, and pedigree of horse and colors of rider. No entry will be received for any race only on conditions that all claims, disputes, and objections arising shall be decided by the Stewards or whom they may appoint, and their decisions upon all points shall bo final. All races to be run under tho V.R.C. rules. Any jockey riding except in the colors entered will be fined Ssovs. No entry will bo received on any pretence whatever after the hour named, or without being accompanied by the necessary amount of cash. All persons intending to withdraw horses are requested to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or the Clerk of the Scales one half hour before starting-. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this lule shall pay a fine not exceeding 5 boys. to the Race Fund. All protests must be accompanied with a deposit of 5 soys., which sum will be forfeited to the Race Fund if the protest is not sustained. Owners of horses who are not members of the Club pay 1 boy. qualification. Horses walking o?er will receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. ROBERT BRADLEY, Secretary.

HAMILTON RAILWAY BRIDGE CONTRACT.
Public Works Office, Wellington, 3rd September, 18S1. WRITTEN TENDERS will be received at this Office until NOON on WEDNESDAY, the 12th October, 1881, for the above contract. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside "Tender for Hamilton Railway Bridge Contract," and accompanied by a cheque on Rome bank in the towu where the tender is lodged ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favour of the Receiver- General's Drpo&it Account only, and not to bearer or order. Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Works Offirps, Auckland, Grahamstown, Wanganui, Wellington, Chri^tchurch, Dunedin, and at the Railway Manager's Office, Napier. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by NOON of the same date, previded that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District or a Resident Engineer's Office by the same hour.
