THE CAMBRIDGE RACES.
The Spring meeting of the Cambridge Jockey Club, will be held to-day, on the Course at Fantham's. The weather gives promise of holding up, and a very enjoyable day's sport may be looked forward to. The course I believe is in fair order. The steamer Waikato will lpave Hamilton for the racecourse landing at half -past 9, retu.ning at 5, and for tho>o who desire be placed on the ground, Mr Milne's coach will leave the Commercial Hotel at 10 o'clock. A 1 * only a limited number can be taken, those intending to avail themselves of this means of transit should secure seats early. It is a pity that there are so few acceptances, fctill there is some first class " metal" entered, and I fully expect to see some exiting finishing touches. The first race will start punctually at one o'clock. Looking down the programme I should not be siu-prised to see &rand PiTKrcss first pass the post for the Cup, with Maori in attendance ; the Steeplechase I think is a dead certainty for, Si»okt,ska.\, although Habkaway is not to be held too cheap ; ! and for the Hurdles I must select Rawenata. Blue Gown*.
