A DASTARDLY THICK
Soite mischievous hoodlums possessed of that sense of humor which it peculiar to the genus, have been indulging in a little sport at tho expense of other people, which w likely to bring them into serious trouble if oaught. Yesterday morning tho employes of Mr Coohrane, on going to work at his place of business in Gruy»atreef, Hamilton East, found the door of the workshop open, and going in discovered that a buggy belonging to Mr J. A Douglas, sent thither for repairs, had been taken away. The result of enquiries made during the day wan that the vehicle was found lying at the bottom of the cliff near tho residence of Col. Lyon, the blackguards who had taken it awny having apparently drawn it to the end of this byastreet and thrown it over. The buggy was damaged very muoh, indeed it is not too muoh to say it was smashed to pipcpß, and will require a considerable amount of repairing before it will again be of service. The matter has been placed in the hands of the police, and in tho common interests of the decent portion of the community we hope they will succeed in bringing the offenders to book.
